Fitness Decathlon helps schoolchildren achieve basic locomotor skills that are sufficient for each age and development level. This makes it easier and lowers the threshold for participating in physically active games and play at school and thus also promotes the creation of important friendships.
FIVE EXERCISE TASKS
Fitness Decathlon exercise tasks encourage each child to develop at their own level. Instead of the results, the focus is on monitoring one’s own development through the Exercise analysis. In physically active self-expression, even a younger child is given an opportunity to find the motivation for physical activity and to enjoy their own development.
Physical exercise tasks:
-one-foot vertical jump
-ball throwing
-forward bending in seated straddle splits
-hanging and pull-ups
-15 minutes of jogging
have been selected from five basic exercise skills categories and are safe to complete.
Why Fitness Decathlon exercise tasks?
-they support the objectives of the national curriculum for physical activity
-assessment of physical activity is made easier with the help of the Exercise analysis
-they develop motor skills and physical condition diversely
-the pupil’s positive attitude towards physical activity and experience improves when they concretely see their development in the multi-skills analysis. EVERYONE MAKES PROGRESS!!
-simple and easy to implement
-helps achieve basic physical functional capacity, which is mapped in Move! measurements for grades 5 and 8
-enable the assignment of homework for sports
-the teacher’s planning burden is eased
-it diversifies the use of time in lessons: once the exercise tasks have been learned, the teacher can give them to supplement other activities in the lessons
For the multi-skills analysis, we’ve prepared grade-specific recommendation points for primary school pupils to achieve basic physical functional capacity: Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6
