LOCOMOTOR SKILLS–SPEED, AGILITY AND ELASTICITY

Good locomotor skills increase vigilance and the ability to react quickly to different situations. Locomotor skills include walking, running, jumping in various ways and sliding.

Fitness Decathlon movement skill tasks are: one-foot vertical jumps and the agility track.

ONE-FOOT VERTICAL JUMP

You do the one-foot jump over the markers on the ground, as the distance between the markers gradually increases by 20 centimetres. Both feet are used an equal amount of times.

The result is the length of the last distance exceeded in centimetres. If the person can’t reach the next marker but hits it with their foot, the length of the distance exceeded is subtracted from 10 cm.

AGILITY TRACK

The agility track has three different phases, which are performed without stopping and as quickly as possible.

In the first phase, you proceed laterally, alternately from right to left. The sole of the foot must then touch the marks placed on the ground.

  1. In the second phase, you run backwards.
  2. The third stage is the final acceleration running forwards.
  3. The result is marked with the time spent to one hundredth of a second.

The boundaries of the agility track are the boundaries of the badminton field (13.40 m x 6.10 m) as shown in the figure below.
